Janitors For Jesus
Janitors for Jesus follows our regular bible study and takes place at 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Wednesday Nights.
Meet in the Arc Main Lobby and we will get started from there.
What is Janitors for Jesus?
Janitors for Jesus is a group of college students who go around cleaning other students bathrooms with asking for nothing in return. This is to show the Love of God to Longwood University’s Campus.
Why Clean Bathrooms?
John 13
“14Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”
Back in the day of Jesus, only servants would wash your feet. Jesus did this to show that even though he is God he cares enough to serve them. By cleaning bathrooms we are doing the same for these students. Even though we know God, we care enough about them and their eternal destination to clean their bathroom for them.
How does a typical Janitors for Jesus meeting go?
1. We knock on the persons door and ask them if we can clean their bathroom.
2. Our group is usually split up into talkers and cleaners. The talkers try to get to know the student while the cleaners clean the bathroom.
3. After the bathroom is so fresh and so clean clean, We ask if there is anything we can pray for before we leave and we pray for their request right there in the room with them before we go.
Right now we are working on Arc but once we finish Arc we plan on going to Curry. That should hold us over for a while.
